About Cashmere
Cashmere is a thin layer of fine hair that grows on the outer skin of goats and covers the roots of the goat's coarse hair. It grows when the sunshine time decreases to resist wind and cold, and falls off after the sunshine time increases. It is a rare special animal fiber that adapts to the super cold climate. The reason why cashmere is very precious is not only due to the scarcity of output (accounting for only 0.2% of the world's total animal fiber production), but more importantly, its excellent quality and characteristics. It is considered as a "fiber gem" or "Fiber Queen".
Inner Mongolia cashmere is the finest and most precious natural fiber in the world, long, lightweight, warm, smooth, soft, breathable and skin friendly. Cashmere goats are traditionally tended by nomadic farmers and this livelihood is protected and encouraged through sustainable herding and grazing along with high standards of animal welfare. The natural luster of this fine micron hair serves to enhance the rich color mixtures in a way no other fiber can.
The natural color of the cashmere is white, light grey and brown. The long and fine white cashmere is the best. Cashmere can be dyed and spun into yarns and knitted into hats, gloves, socks, sweaters, jumpers and other clothing, or woven into fabrics then cut and assembled into garments such as scarves, blankets, jackets, trousers (pants), pajamas and other items.
It takes about three or four goats of Inner Mongolia to naturally shed enough cashmere to make one pure cashmere sweater. The length and the fineness of cashmere makes a difference in quality of cashmere fabric. The longer the cashmere, the lower the pilling rate of the finished product and the longer the service life; the finer the cashmere, the better the hand feeling.
Cashmere clothing Care
Cashmere is one of the most precious animal fibers in the world and cashmere clothing also needs our proper care and avoid rubbing with hard cloth, coarse cloth, chemical fiber for a long time. Here are some tips for storage and cleaning.
Washing method:
Hand washing : put cashmere accessories (scarves, hats, gloves) and clothing (cashmere sweater turned from inside to outside) in 30-35 ℃ water, add neutral detergent, and soak for 15-30 minutes; Cashmere is a kind of acid-resistant but alkali-resistant protein fiber. Do not use detergent with enzymes or bleaching chemical additives to prevent corrosion and discoloration. Cashmere clothing of different colors should not be washed together to prevent mutual dyeing. The places with serious dirt shall be washed by squeezing and rubbing gently, and the rest parts shall be gently rubbed only, and finally washed with clean water. After washing with clean water, do not use your hands to wring it out, but use your hands to gently squeeze out the water, and then put it into a laundry bag, and put it in the washing machine for dehydration and drying. Don't use the washing machine to wash.
Drying:
After dehydration and drying, lay the clothes flat on the drying board to dry naturally, and do not expose them to the sun.
The above washing and drying methods can effectively prevent the color fading and deformation of cashmere clothing, better maintain its lightweight and warm characteristics, and extend its service life.
Ironing:
Use a medium-temperature steam iron for ironing. The distance between the iron and the cashmere clothing is 0.5-1cm. Do not press it on the cashmere.
Storage:
Before storage, clean, dry and put it in a closed bag (vacuum bag is the best), or put a small piece of soap wrapped in napkin in it. Take it out in April and May every year for ventilation and drying, so as to prevent insects from damaging the cashmere fabric.
